Our dining room and kitchen are DONE! I can't show you the dining room now because it has a lot of the elements, okay, junk, from the living room in it because the living room is being rewired. First I will show some of the BEFORE pics and then you can see the AFTER shots. Matt did the electric, installed the cabinets, added the moulding... I did the wall treatment. Oh, I need to add a close up of that. Matt and I did the tiling. I am so glad it's done. I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am.




I need to retake this picture without the flowers in the way of seeing the sink.
We're going to put a cover over the radiater. Matt's supposed to make it.


You can catch a glimpse of the "devil" cat. This morning I turned my back sitting at the table eating my egg and ham sandwich when Cezanne lifted my ham and took off with it. The other day he knocked a lidded pan of brownies off the counter, broke it in a hundred pieces, but managed to eat a portion of them.

Here is one of the doors in the house I refinished. It's not supposed to look perfect. It's from 1921, after all.
Here is the counter top. The photo isn't clear, so I'll replace it soon.

It's been a while since I've added anything. For Christmas I received a photograph of myself and my friend, Laura. We dressed up as Peter Max characters for the Halloween Dance at the school I teach at. I'm the one on the right.

Here is a mosiac I did last year. I have several more ideas and a few of the landscape stones, so I should make some more. My next tiling project is next on the agenda, so the mosaics will have to be put on hold.

Yesterday was the last day of school for a couple of weeks. I'm on vacation and will be busy with house projects and getting presents ready for Christmas. I was going through my folders on my computer and came up with some photos to add to the blog for no real reason, but they were interesting. The picture of Matt and I was in D.C. in '05, I think. As you can guess, its at cherry blossom time.

Family

To introduce myself, you will need to know my family. My husband's name is Matt. I have 2 stepdaughters named Madeline and Alexandra. Here is a picture of me and Matt and then another one with Alexandra on the left and Madeline on the right.

Felting

Here are some felted projects I did earlier this year. Lots of fun, and I want to make time to do more. I made a neat necklace and earrings I should photograph or scan.

This is my cutie pie kitty , Cezanne. I got him from the pound and he's been driving me crazy "every" since, but I love him. His coloring reminds me of Paul Cezanne's landscapes even though I love his stilllifes so much more. He's softer than any cat you'll pet . He loves to hunt, but now with our city setting he has to stay inside, much to his chagrine. He's been injured too many times and I fear for his life. He's a vocal cat who has to be sent to the basement bathroom at night or else he'll jum p on the bed and wake you up with his loud meows.

Starting a blog

I just canceled my website, tamarathomas.com because I wasn't using it to it's fullest capacity and I was basically wasting my money. I figure I'll give this a try. Share photos for friends and family to see. I can show off my latest art work, craft or house project. Right now my camera is broken, so I'll have to hold off showing the progress on the kitchen. (the camera may have broken at the school trip to Camp Letts where I was photographing the students creating artwork in the style of Andy Goldworthy. It was pouring rain and the kids just kept creating. They came out great.) If I can find a photo I will show off some of the kids' work. Well, all I could find quickly was one from last year.
